News /// 5.31.12: Robert Plant’s Nashville show on DVD, Gotye at the Ryman, #jakebrokehishand, June at the Wash and more….

– Weren’t lucky enough to be at Robert Plant‘s intimate Nashville show at the War Memorial? Now you can catch the whole thing on DVD, as Band of Joy: Live from the Artists Den will be released on 7.10.  In Mr. Plant’s own words, from the press release statement: “Some years back I was propelled by chance, with little planning or expectation into an American way…with a lean and pull into a new direction…voices and harmony, restraint and explosion, tight and loose, great joy in great company….in a blizzard in Nashville. My thanks to one and all for aiding and abetting this exciting bend in the road.” Rumor has it Plant can be spotted frequenting East Nashville spots Jeni’s and Eastland Cafe…

Gotye will play the Ryman on October 3rd. Kid’s come a long way from when I saw him last year at CMJ, when everyone pronounced his name as “got-ye.” Tickets on sale Friday, 6.8 at 10 a.m.

– Due to a broken hand (you may have seen the #jakebrokehishand ridiculousness on Twitter), JEFF The Brotherhood have cancelled the remainder of their dates with Best Coast.

Family Wash‘s June calendar is up.

– We all know Nashville is a town of vinyl-lovers. New York Times has an article on how to care for your collection.

– Heading to Grimey’s or the Ryman of Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros tonight? Watch their new video for “Man on Fire” after the jump…
