The final standalone evening of Live on the Green 2016 has arrived, as next week marks the final installment – three days of music on the courthouse lawn, and scads upon scads of people coming in town to take advantage of the whole “free” aspect of the concert series. So, in the final standalone evening of Live on the Green, a somewhat manageable crowd of 14,000+ (per Mayor Megan Barry’s quick head count) enjoyed some brooding blues tunes from The Record Company, some woozy wandering from Kurt Vile and his Violators, and of course, an ascendant finish from Dawes as they filled out a set of vigorous music and movement making everybody on the courthouse lawn feel some kind of way. So with that, the standalone evenings come to a close, and LOTG gears up for its big shebang finish next week.
