News /// Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds to play the Ryman

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Live at Foundry Stage, Cockatoo Island, Sydney, 17 January 2009 bootlegIf you’re not already consumed by the news of a royal pregnancy, here’s one for ya: Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds are coming to Nashville, playing the Ryman on 3.16. It’s a bit far away, but tickets go on sale this Friday, 12.7 at 10 a.m.

Cave is touring to support Push the Sky Away, his fifteenth studio album which will be released 2.19.13 — if you pre-order it now on his website or iTtunes, you get a free instant download of the track “We No Who U R.” (No, it’s not a collaboration with Ke$ha). There are also some swell box sets/delux packages available.

“‘We No Who U R’ sets this album in our time; we’re living with the consequences of actions and innovations that seemed so progressive in the industrial era. There’s a calm assessment of the gravity of the situation, and humility. This whole album has a generosity of spirit that’s established here by a children’s choir singing “we know there’s no need to forgive,” the press release says.
