– Diamond Rugs, fronted by new East Nashvillian John McCauley, will play “Blue Mountains” off their debut record, Diamond Rugs, on the Late Show with David Letterman tonight. Paste thinks their record is the best of the year, so far.

– Nashville Scene announced a sweet line up for the Sounds Like Summer series – including Guided By Voices. The event will take place on three Thursdays, from 7.19 to 8.2, at Marathon Music Works.
– Dead Can Dance will play the Ryman on 9.4 – they have a new record out 8.9 (their first in 16 years) and Pitchfork has the new single “Amnesia.” Also playing the mother church: Grace Potter and The Nocturnals play a two night run on 10.12 and 13. Tickets on sale Friday, June 29 at 10:00 a.m.
