Last night was a good one for local music – The Ettes playing to a crowd equally comprising babies and humans of imbibing age at Imogene + Willie; Tristen and friends (including Evan P. Donohue) over at the Basement; even the Black Keys at Springwater.
Tonight we continue the trend with LEAGUES over at High Watt, joined by Mr. Andrew Combs, along with The Kernal and Mechanical River.
LEAGUES is the outfit of Tyler Burkum, Thad Cockrell and Jeremy Lutito, all notable Nashville musicians who have played with the likes of Mat Kearney, Mindy Smith and as well as paved solo careers. Now they’ve come together to form summery pop-rock outfit LEAGUES: take a listen here.
Mr. Combs will be playing with a full band, and it’s his last show in these parts for a while (he’s heading out on tour). We’re also keen on the warm, vintage country vibes of The Kernal, from Jackson, Tennessee.
Doors at 7 p.m., tickets are $10. Follow the jump to watch The Kernal‘s video for “Where We’re Standing.” ‘Till tonight.
