News /// 5.18.12: Warner Bros. snag JEFF The Brotherhood, Jack White responds to Guinness, On sale today & more

– Seems everyone is getting on the Nashville bandwagon these days, and now Warner Bros. Records have announced their signing of JEFF The Brotherhood –even identifying them as from our fair city in the press release’s headline. They’re worthy, Nashville or not. JEFF’s first release for the label will be the  Hypnotic Knights EP, available online 5.22. All four songs are taken from the band’s upcoming LP Hypnotic Nights, which was co-produced by Dan Auerbach and JEFF The Brotherhood and recorded at Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound Studio in Nashville. Hypnotic Nights will be released by Warner Bros. Records on July 17th –the same night they will appear on Letterman. Congrats, boys.

Jack White has responded to the whole Guinness World Records controversy with this hilarious statement. Equally hilarious is watching a good portion of the media take it completely seriously.

– On sale this morning at 10 a.m: Jackson Browne at the Ryman, Tallest Man on Earth at Mercy.

– RIP Donna: Donna Summer‘s family has scheduled a public memorial, which will take place next Wednesday in Nashville.

– Missed Supper & Song at I+W on Wednesday? Check out these gorgeous photos of the event with featured Caitlin Rose and Rayland Baxter.
