It’s been a beautiful week in Nashville, so celebrate the last crisp days of spring with some equally beautiful music. Or, if you prefer, music that will rupture your eardrums. Either or.
Our night will be spent at The Basement for Andrew Combs, the Electric Hearts and Houndmouth. We’ve sung the praises of Combs quite a bit, even in the Nashville Scene, (which, I think being a music blog that tries to talk about music we like rather than destroying music we don’t, is a-OK), so today listen to the bluesy sounds of locals Electric Hearts:.
Also smart choices (and all Nashville acts): the Honey Locust EP release show at the High Watt (which I also picked in the Scene) and the Heavy Cream album release and crawfish boil at Zombie Shop. Ambitious two-fers can begin the night at Zombie for crawfish and tunes around 8, heading to the Basement after. There’s also John Henry & the Engine, opening for Lucero, at Cannery, who gave his Nashville Five yesterday.
Tomorrow? It’s either Lee Bains and the Glory Fires w/ Cassino at the Basement or Lampchop. Bonnie Raitt‘s at the Ryman, but that’s sold out (approach ticket vendors cautiously).
