News /// New Diamond Rugs track, Lolla lineup, more

Rolling Stone has a track from Deer Tick front man John McCauley’s new indie-supergroup of sorts, Diamond Rugs (comprising Robbie Crowell also of Deer Tick, Ian Saint Pé of the Black Lips, Hardy Morris of Dead Confederate, Steve Berlin of Los Lobos and Bryan Dufresne of Six Finger Satellite). Download “Country Mile” here. The band’s debut LP, out April 24, actually came to life in Nashville,  where McCauley now lives (in East Nashville, to be exact). We’ve previewed the record and you’re in for a treat. Check out a blurb I did on the guys in a SXSW roundup for LA Magazine. Got to sneak a lot of Nashville artists into that one…

Be sure to check out McCauley’s main gig, Deer Tick, at Mercy Lounge on April 24th (coincidentally, Diamond Rugs’ release date) with Turbo Fruits.

Lollapalooza‘s lineup is out, and tickets are on sale. Nashville’s The Black Keys, Jack White and JEFF The Brotherhood are amongst the acts announced.

Keith Urban‘s in the Opry now.

– Should be nice weather this weekend for the Tour de Fun, where you can catch Pujol amongst 40 other bands. Check out the map here.
